Joining Watson at the show on June 13 is Dan Savage, who will be honored with a Special Achievement Award to recognize his online "It Gets Better Project", which inspired millions of people to stand up against LGBT bullying.
Director and screenwriter Adam McKay, and screenwriter and producer Chris Henchy, will be honored with the Webby Film + Video Person of the Year Award for FunnyorDie.com, the web site that they co-founded with actor and comedian Will Ferrell. Judd Apatow is also a principal partner in Funny or Die.
LCD Soundsystem will be celebrated as Webby Artist of the Year, with front man James Murphy set to accept the award and deliver a token Webby 5-Word Speech.
We are also excited to honor mobile-phone inventor Martin Cooper with a Webby Lifetime Achievement Award. Plus, this year marks the first time the (RED) Webby will be presented, recognizing the outstanding use of innovative technology for social good.
