Questlove is a very busy guy. Musician, gourmand, intellectual and social activist, Ahmir Khalib Thompson, otherwise known as Quest or ?uestlove, is a man of incredible reputation and talent.

It’s an honor to include him among our prestigious judging Academy here at the Webby Awards where he lends his insight towards assessing the best in Internet culture.

You may remember Questlove from when he presented legendary hip-hop performers De La Soul with Webby Artist of The Year at the 18th Annual Webby Awards. Later that evening, Questlove was on the one and twos as the DJ for our afterparty.

He's America's Bandleader

Besides his work with The Roots and on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” Questlove has produced music for and featured on albums for D’Angelo, Amy Winehouse, John Mayer, Al Green, Jay Z, Jill Scott and  Erykah Badu among many other music luminaries.

Self-Professed Music Snob

As he describes in the Webby Winning Video “The Snob’s Dictionary,” Questlove has a record collection totaling ~70K discs. He teaches music at NYU and the critic Robert Christgau described him as such: “His musical knowledge, for all practical purposes, is limitless.”

Social Activism

As meticulous as he is with his music, Questlove is an unabashed fighter for social justice. Among his writing, talks, and interviews, he also reaches out to his fans via social media. One Instagram post called for “Songs with spirit in them. Songs with solutions. Songs with questions…Seriously just ONE or Two songs that change the course. This is something I feel the need and urgency to put out there.”

He’s penned the memoir Mo’ Meta Blues as well as the forthcoming cookbook, somethingtofoodabout. Check out it’s dedicated Twitter account and Tumblr. Oh, and he also co-hosts a standup-comedy show and started a catering service called Quest Loves Food.
