9 Social Accounts That We Love (And So Should You)!

Whether it is on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr or Snapchat, these nine accounts are among our favorites across the social space.

These accounts are bright, smart, fun, addictive, powerful, touching and weird; reflecting what we enjoy about the Internet as well as why we look to it for insight and humor and curiosity. Winners for our social categories span the breadth and interests of the Internet. Just as there’s no precise formula for going viral, Social Category Winners can be anyone or any account.

Social (Media) Awareness

Whether it is on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr or Snapchat, these nine accounts are among our favorites across the social space.

Norbert The Dog

Stanford Graduate School of Business Tumblr

Stanford Graduate School of Business Tumblr: Or, the page we visit to feel smart.

A fun place for seriously smart advice and insights. Don’t be fooled; this is not another vehicle for cat videos and Kanye GIFs. Instead, viewers can see what the young geniuses are doing while reading up on helpful advice on business and jobs in the tech industry.

This Tumblr garnered the 2015 Honoree in Social: News & Information yet reads like a campus broadsheet of yore. Scroll through for University events and cultural commentary.

Cracked's Facebook Page

Described as “Comedy with a college education,” Cracked’s Facebook page is an education in myth busting.

Employing original memes, videos and posts. Their specialty brand of humor is a blend of sarcasm, a-ha moments and pulling back the wool over our eyes. A 2015 Honoree in Social: Humor, each Cracked joke spurs from a kernel of truth.

2kindsofpeople

This popular blog combines humor, illustration and what can be described as the Internet’s A/B test.

2kindsofpeople follows the conceit that there are, at the end of the day, two types of people: Those who see the glass half full and those who see it as half empty. Each post is a visual puzzle or existential quiz on what our tastes and habits are.

Boogie Photography

Boogie, born Vladimir Milivojevich in Serbia, is an accomplished photographer whose work focuses on portraiture and those who live on the margins of society. His street photography is candid and powerful, commanding more attention than your typical Instagram post.

Check him out @boogiephotographer and teleport to the grittier sides of NYC, Moscow, Sao Paulo, Kingston and elsewhere.

Baron Wolman

Baron Wolman’s Instagram account is akin to having the entire Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at your fingertips and then some.

Wolman is Rolling Stone magazine’s first chief photographer. Look through his feed and open up a time capsule back to legendary rock ‘n’ rollers. It is a must see for music lovers, fashionistas, and pop culture enthusiasts.

Taco Bell's Snapchat

The 2015 Nominee in Social: Best Use of Video was awarded to Taco Bell Snapchat. And they deserve it.

A demonstrably popular and successful Snapchat channel, with a consistent flow of videos, Taco Bell fills their “Stories” at least 3 times a week. Perhaps only DJ Khaled and Kylie Jenner are giving them a run for their ?.

Nonetheless, the fast-food chain is notable for crafting the first “Snapchat film”. In which case, if you’re feeling a dinner and a movie, better go grab a Doritos Cheesy Gordita Crunch… or two.

Metropolitan Museum of Art

Serenity, inspiration, peace of mind and wonder. That is what major cultural institutions such as the Met provide the world. Their Webby Award Winning Instagram account is literally an art house in the palm of your hand.

Visit @metmuseum for your daily dose of high-art, behind-the-scenes and maybe a glimpse or two into this year’s Met Gala.
