Inspiration for a New Year

NEED CREATIVE INSPIRATION FOR 2019? LOOK NO FURTHER THAN THESE WEBBY-RECOGNIZED PROJECTS WE LOVED FROM LAST YEAR.

EmojiMeals | Native Advertising (Social)

We love work that serves a noble purpose! That’s what BBH created with its 2018 Webby-nominated project EmojiMeals, which turned a fun meal-building game into donations to feed hungry children.

Oxxio App | Services & Utilities (Mobile)

Utility never goes out of style. Dutch digital agency Dept understood that when creating its Webby-nominated app for energy supplier Oxxio. It helps users understand what they’ve used, and predicts their annual bill. Building an app to make life easier for users? Let the Oxxio App inspire you.

Election in the Dark | Government & Civil Innovation (Websites)

Japanese agency Dentsu forced users to experience election season through the eyes of the visually impaired with their Webby-nominated project Election in the Dark.

The brilliant website called attention to and combated the difficulties that visually impaired voters encounter when trying to gain access to voting information online. Check it out.

Yo! My Saint! | Music Branded (Video)

Attention all filmmakers: Last year’s insanely experimental project from FrameworkKENZO presents “YO! MY SAINT” is a Webby Honoree that keeps inspiring us. Combining fashion, great storytelling, and music by great musicians, this project is a shining example of creativity.

Maxis Buffer Art | Video Ad Shortform (Advertising)

Want a leg up on the competition? Take a page out of Ensemble Worldwide‘s book by checking out their Webby-nominated project Maxis Buffer Art. For 4G provider Maxis, they mapped out where buffers naturally occur while using YouTube on competitor telephone companies—and created disruptive art to act as pre-roll ads.

Eurostar Odyssey | Experimental & Innovation (Mobile)

Cuteness overload: AKQA agency learned that prospective passengers on Eurostar trains constantly ask “if they can see fish” while passing through the English Channel. So, AKQA brought the seabed to life in Eurostar Odyssey, an onboard VR experience, by transforming the train’s roof into the set of a wildlife experience.

We loved this project—you will too.

Gorillaz App | Music (Mobile)

Who doesn’t want to party with the Gorillaz? B-Reel‘s mixed reality app for the Gorillaz Humanz album was a standout. It invites users into the Gorillaz world, to find album exclusives, and attend the biggest virtual reality listening album party.

If you’re looking to make great experiences with AR, VR, and 360, the Webby-nominated Gorillaz App will definitely fill you with inspiration!

Stained Glass | Best Use of Interactive Video (Video)

Austin agency Callen’s Webby-nominated Stained Glass Interactive Music Video is seriously amazing! The agency crafted an interactive coloring book music video that let fans listen to Real Estate’s new song, while coloring in the entire scene to their liking.

You can create your own, too. Wow, we’re already inspired. Where are the markers?
