PATTON OSWALT RETURNS AS HOST OF THE 18TH ANNUAL WEBBY AWARDS
Cipriani Wall Street to Host the Star-Studded Celebration of Internet Culture Webby Nominees Announced April 8th.
(New York) March 25, 2014 - The Webby Awards announced today that critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, actor and writer Patton Oswalt will return as host of the 18th annual Webby Awards on Monday, May 19th at Cipriani Wall Street.
As in past years, Oswalt will open the show and keep tabs on the winners' 5-word acceptance speeches, a trademark of the annual awards show recognizing excellence on the Internet. Notable speeches from last year's Webby Awards include Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti of Trigger Street Productions "The Oscars should do this," and GIF inventor Steve Wilhite's "It's pronounced 'JIF' not 'GIF'."
Fans around the world will be able to watch and share The Webby Awards ceremony on demand at WebbyAwards.com the morning of Tuesday, May 20th. The Webby Awards channel will launch with all the show highlights, including the all Webby 5-Word Speeches, special performances as well as the show in its entirety.

Patton continues to find success in all areas of entertainment, from his Grammy-nominated comedy specials to his many memorable guest roles on his favorite TV shows. He is currently the narrator on ABC's breakout comedy The Goldbergs and had a starring role on Adult Swim's The Heart, She Holler. In addition to his guest roles this past year on Parks and Recreation (for which he received a TV Critics Choice Award), Justified, Two and a Half Men, Portlandia, and Burn Notice. Patton also voiced characters on The Simpson's, Bob's Burgers and Ratatoullie and has been seen in, King of Queens, Justified, The Sarah Silverman Program, Seinfeld, and The Comedians of Comedy. He recently starred in the film The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, with Ben Stiller, and was recognized in 2012 for his work on the big screen, nominated for a Critics Choice Award for his brilliant performance in Jason Reitman's film Young Adult, starring opposite Charlize Theron. On the comedy side, Patton is currently promoting his fifth television special, Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time, to add to his four critically acclaimed albums.
