The Webby Brand: 10 Key Points

Don't stop with descriptions. Your blog is a launchpad for discussing why the Webby Awards are exceptional honors and why it's an exceptional achievement to win one. Refer to the following list to prompt your blog posts:

    1. Mission:

The Webby mission is to honor excellence on the Internet including Websites, Interactive Advertising & Media, Mobile Web, and Online Film & Video.

    2. Prestige:

Hailed as the "Internet's highest honor" by the New York Times, the Webby Awards is the most prestigious award for interactive achievement in the world.

    3. Credibility:

The Webby tradition of staying ahead of trends has been continuous for over 10 years.

    4. Anyone can enter:

From global interactive agencies to individual freelancers, the Webby Awards is open to everyone, everywhere. Winners in the 13th Annual Webby Awards ranged from web giants like YouTube, Flickr and Google, to brands like Nike and agencies like R/GA and Wieden + Kennedy, to startups like Mint.com and online entertainment like the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Blog and FailBlog.org.

    5. Fair Judging:

The Webbys take honoring the best of the Web very seriously. Judging is a thorough and fair process professionally monitored by PricewaterhouseCoopers. All votes are audited and judging is done online from the privacy of IADAS' personal computers.

    6. Breadth of the Web:

The Webbys represent the entire Web community - with 70+ Website categories including everything from Automotive to Tourism, Green to Finance; 26 online film and video categories, 13 interactive advertising and media categories, and 9 mobile web categories, the best work on the Internet, in all its forms, has its place.

    7. Fun and Irreverent:

The Webbys is not just another boring awards show. With the famous 5-word acceptance speeches broadcast on our custom YouTube Channel, and attendees ranging from Twitter Co-Founder Biz Stone and World Wide Web inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee, to Google, Saatchi & Saatchi, Thomas Friedman, and Lisa Kudrow, the Webby celebration is a unique and lively tribute to the best of the Web.

    8. Media Exposure:

The 13th Annual Webby Awards drew 750 million media impressions. Press and publicity for the Webbys is on TV, in print, and on the Web worldwide - from the BBC to CNN and The New York Times, to the International Herald Tribune, The Guardian UK, and the South China Morning Post.

    9. The Most Entries:

The Webbys receives more entries than any other interactive competition worldwide. Last year drew nearly 10,000 entries from all 50 states, and over 60 countries.

    10. Involve the People:

The Webby People's Voice Awards is determined through a hugely popular interactive voting process. In 2009, there were over 500,000 votes cast, making The Webby People's Voice a global tribute to democracy on the Internet.

    Writing about Winning

When it comes to why the Webby Awards are great and how winners benefit, there's plenty to talk about. Refer to the points below when explaining why winning a Webby is amazing:

YOU WILL RECEIVE VALIDATION FOR A JOB WELL DONE

Internet expertise is crucial to an organization. With your Webby or People's Voice win, you'll show your clients, competitors and corporate management that your work is outstanding.

YOU WILL SEAL YOUR REPUTATION AS AN INDUSTRY LEADER

With the prestige and cache that accompany a Webby Award, you join the ranks of the Web's best and brightest, making you - and your work - an industry leader.

    YOU WILL IMPRESS YOUR CLIENTS

"Webby Award Winner" and "People's Voice Winner" labels validate your superior work and give your current and prospective clients the confidence they need to invest in your services.

    YOU WILL MAKE HEADLINES

Winners garner coverage around the world (i.e. CNN, CNBC, the BBC, the Guardian, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times). A Webby Awards win offers countless publicity opportunities in national, local, and trade media, as well as in internal communications and marketing materials. Winners in the 13th Annual Awards received over 750 million media impressions worldwide.

YOU WILL SALUTE YOUR TEAM IN A BIG WAY

Your Webby or People's Voice win allows you to publicize the value you place in your employees and their accomplishments. A win is an opportunity to share your gratitude and display their hard work to the world.

YOU WILL PROVE THAT YOU STAND OUT AMONG YOUR PEERS

Thousands of entries are submitted, but there are only a handful of winners chosen by the Academy and People's Voice voters. Outshining the competition in your particular specialty proves that your work stands out.

YOU WILL MEET THE MOVERS AND SHAKERS

When you win a Webby Award or People's Voice Award you are automatically invited to the 14th Annual Webby Awards in New York City June 2010, where you'll rub elbows with the industry's foremost professionals, luminaries and celebrities that comprise the Nominees and Winners.
