About The Index
What is the 2022 Webby Industry Index?
Since 1997, The Webby Awards has recognized the companies, teams, creatives and innovators setting the standard for digital work in their respective industries. Four years ago, we published the Webby Industry Index to celebrate this ingenuity, and inspire a new generation of creators. The 4th Annual Webby Industry Index ranks and analyzes the top-performing companies across key industries in the 26th Annual Webby Awards.
Methodology
Our list of key industries to analyze for each index was derived from entries in The Webby Awards. Our team looked at which industries over index in our competition. We then found the five companies with the highest-performing work across each respective industry. Each company is ranked by the number of Webby Awards, People’s Voice Awards, nominations and honors their work received in last year’s competition. Webby Award and People’s Voice Award wins weigh heavier in our calculations.
Agency Index
The 2022 Webby Agency Index is the ultimate roundup of advertising agencies from all over the world that are setting the standard for excellence online. We will take you through the top five Webby-recognized agencies (from the 26th Annual Webby Awards) ranked in order, as well as some of the winning work they have produced. Media Industry Index
The 2022 Webby Media Industry Index takes a deep dive into the top five media companies that earned the most wins and recognition at the 26th Annual Webby Awards. The index highlights top media publishers as well as pieces of work by each company that are defining great storytelling and utilizing new technology like Web3 and VR. These companies are, in order: National Geographic, HBO, MTV, CNN and The Washington Post.
Games Industry Index
In the 4th Annual Webby Games Industry Index, we ranked the top five gaming companies that received the most wins and recognition at 26th Annual Webby Awards. These studios represent the best in gaming and their featured projects showcase the true talent that they possess.
