  • "Never ship ugly."

  • More Than 5 Words

Briefly summarize your nominated project for someone who is unfamiliar with your work. Think of this as your elevator pitch.
DoSomething.org makes the world suck less. We’re one of the largest global organizations for young people and social change, our 3.6 million members tackle campaigns that impact every cause, from poverty to violence to the environment to literally everything else.

What inspired you most to follow your dreams/vision while working on this project?
“Fight for the user.” We start with who we serve, young people, and decide how we can make it easier for young people to take action on issues they care about through our website.

When did you first know that this work was going to be something special?
We've built a user experience and tech stack that treat volunteering as e-commerce: We've created the biggest, best catalog of social change campaigns for young people. We've created the best shopping experience. And we focus our product efforts across the conversion funnel. But instead of buying products, our "customers" join cause campaigns and make change happen around the globe.
