The challenge with the Olson Kundig website was to reimagine and extend the digital experience we created for them ~5 years prior. Since that redesign, the firm underwent a period of significant growth, expanding their offices and leadership, and redefining their guiding principles. Through research, we identified a critical gap: while their previous site beautifully showcased their work, it reinforced an enigmatic reputation that left users craving deeper connection to the people and culture behind the projects. We needed to express this evolution while dramatically expanding the types and volume of content they publish, all without compromising performance or user experience.

Our solution centered on "lifting the curtain,” transforming mystery into meaningful transparency. We collaborated closely with Olson Kundig to craft a cinematic experience that mirrors the warmth, sophistication, and bold experimentation of their studio culture. A dynamic, personalized timeline functions as a digital monograph, tracing 60 years from the firm's origins through today's leadership. The standout "Play" section reimagines content discovery as a streaming experience, where visitors intuitively browse podcasts, interviews, home tours, and speaker series—making the firm's thought leadership as accessible as their architectural portfolio.
