Digital quickly becomes the main touchpoints of your life during a time like this, and many more people have learned how good an online shopping experience can be. This makes it exciting to work in that space. - Spring/Summer Team

Q: Can you describe your project and the concept behind it? A: The manufacturing process defines the design. Taking cues from how the furniture is designed and how the CNC machines cut the materials, we designed a functional UI where you get a familiar yet very distinct look which supports the content hierarchy and guides the user.

Q: What influenced your chosen technical approach, and how did it go beyond past methods? A: The site is fully modular which gives vast editor freedom. Dynamically controlled animations tell stories about the functional furniture and give an extra dimension to the browsing. You can build your own personal desk by adding special features like wireless phone charging, integrated Sonos speakers, and other cool stuff. With the same mindset, the site is modular and not template based.

When did you experience a breakthrough or an "a-ha" moment during this project?

We always look for the core idea which can manifest itself as a design direction, a functionality, or some thing else. In this case, the design feels so connected to the company, and even the basket looks like a parts list from their manufacturing.

Q: What web technologies, tools, and resources did you use to develop this? A: We built the site with a fully custom front end on Shopify. And to get Shopify to become this flexible is not an easy feat. We made it possible for Stykka to radically change the look of a page and configure it to suit the purpose — no matter what purpose may come up.

Q: How did the final product meet or exceed your expectations? A: The site has helped define the brand and give the visitor all the emotions and possibilities we were looking for in creating this.

Q: Why is this an exciting time to create new digital experiences? How does your team fit into this? A: Digital quickly becomes the main touchpoints of your life during a time like this, and many more people have learned how good an online shopping experience can be. This makes it exciting to work in that space.
