Q: Can you describe your project and the concept behind it? A: Reintroduce Webex as a best-in-class collaboration tool and convert their online presence to an enterprise marketing machine.

Q: Tell us about your initial moodboard, wireframe, or prototype. How did things change throughout the process? A: We created dozens of looks before landing on a specific direction, that shifted only slightly based on the stories we all agreed were important to tell.

Q: What influenced your chosen technical approach, and how did it go beyond past methods? A: Because of the gated nature of the client's environment, we needed an approach that would allow us to deliver agnostic code the client could implement without the need for any major refactoring. We settled on Webpack to help us deliver individual components suited for AEM implementation.

When did you experience a breakthrough or an "a-ha" moment during this project?

With video conferencing as the new norm, competitors dominating the territory were missing a vital component that so many required — integrated privacy and security. By quickly realizing this as a differentiator for Webex, we were able to build their story around user journeys for modern workers and launch their integral software for hybrid ways of working at the time.

Q: What web technologies, tools, and resources did you use to develop this? A: The production environment is a siloed Adobe Experience Cloud environment, so we built a modified Storybook JavaScript instance to deliver compiled front end components for direct AEM integration. Using Webpack we were able to deliver cross-platform, portable front-end code.

Q: How did you balance your own creative ideas and technical capabilities with a fair representation of the client’s brand? A: We designed systematically for specific audience needs. Showing how the suite of products works for different organizations, needs and individuals. Our initial delivery leaves room for continuous creation on the client side, allowing them to keep evolving how they show up with different audiences.

Q: How did the final product meet or exceed your expectations? A: We married lead generation and compelling storytelling to vibrantly announce the new Webex brand and synthesize their position in the market around the future of collaboration and remote work. Internal and external audiences were ecstatic.

Q: Why is this an exciting time to create new digital experiences? How does your team fit into this? A: Everyone expects things to be delivered immediately — including consumers and clients. Making compelling work in fast-paced, demanding environments is a modern feat of strategic thinking, close collaboration that thrills everyone involved.
