Describe the brief or inspiration behind your project/campaign. What was your team tasked with?
Last year, Zapier underwent a rebrand (https://brand.zapier.com/), and we wanted to ensure that our presentation for Webby Awards 2022 continued our new brand theme and narrative.
Walk us through your process. What steps did you take to bring your idea to life?
Zapier sent over our 2021 Webby presentation and our new rebrand to the Superside team as a way for them to see what we did in the past and what we're looking to create. We also mentioned in a meeting with the Superside team that we wanted this project to highlight how our customers are using easy automation tools, and put them at the forefront of our presentation.
Why it was important for you to solve this challenge. Why now?
Zapier's mission is to make automation work for everyone so that every person and every business can move forward at growth speed. With this project we wanted to show everyone that regardless of your organization size, Zapier is the automation platform you need to scale quickly and effectively.
Describe your process for creating award winning B2B work. How is creativity at the center of how you work?
With Superside, I met with Juliana and told her that we wanted to highlight our customers for this project. Zapier customers are using automations in exciting ways that should be highlighted. Lastly, I told the Superside team that as long as they stayed within our new brand design, they had full creativity to execute this presentation.
A lot of teams have challenges keeping a campaign idea simple, especially if multiple contributors were involved. How did you ensure that your project remained true to the idea and on brand all the way from brief to launch?
Zapier worked with Superside for this project. We initially had a creative brainstorm where I told them what I'd like see but gave them all of the creative freedom so long as they stay with in our new brand redesign. In order to ensure that project remained on brand we had several asynchronous rounds of feedback where Superside would send over the deck and I would provide recommendations on what we should add and strike.
