March 19, 2001, NEW YORK, NY – Emporio Armani will host an event in New York City on April 26 to announce the nominees for the 5th Annual Webby Awards, which recognizes the most extraordinary talent on the Web. On May 3, in San Francisco, Emporio Armani will also hold a second event to celebrate the nominees.

Those expected to attend the New York event include last year’s Webby Awards emcee, Alan Cumming, Tiffany Shlain, Founder of the Webbys, and the best of Silicon Alley’s digerati. In San Francisco, the attendees will include the Award nominees as well as several celebrities who have been chosen to act as presenters at this year’s Awards.

The 5th Annual Webby Awards show will take place on Wednesday, July 18 at San Francisco’s War Memorial Opera House. The Awards are the leading international honor for Web sites and individual achievement in technology and creativity. They are presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, the voting body of The Webby Awards. Emporio Armani is recognizing the critically acclaimed Webby Awards in their ongoing commitment to creativity and excellence on the web.
