New York, NY (November 4, 2009)- The Internet enthusiasts behind The Webby Awards today launched Netted, a free daily newsletter where they’ll share the latest, coolest, and most useful things they’ve discovered online.
Dedicated to “better living through the Internet,” Netted harnesses the collective wisdom of the Webby Awards team to introduce and steer subscribers to the online tools that make life better, more fun, and more productive — from a site that lets users skip the robotic menu when calling large companies to a service that instantly turns photos into postcards and mails them anywhere in the world.

“Netted is about helping readers use the Internet to master modern life in ways both big and small,” said David-Michel Davies, executive director of The Webby Awards. “Think about the first time you found Fandago or used Skype. Our goal is deliver those types of brilliant but practical tools to inboxes every day.”
Davies noted that the debut of Netted is a natural extension for The Webby Awards brand.
“The Webby Awards has been uncovering and celebrating the best of the Internet for more than 15 years,” said Davies. “Every day, amazing new sites and apps are making the rounds in our office. Discovering and sharing great things online is what inspires us and we hope Netted captures that energy and excitement.”
Netted‘s editorial team will be led by editor in chief Peter Hyman, a former Vanity Fair staffer and editor at Men.style.com, who has covered digital and pop culture for more than a decade. Chris Greene, senior vice president of business development for The Webby Awards, will serve as publisher.
Davies noted that Netted operates independently of The Webby Awards submissions and judging process.
