5 Things to Know About Martha Stewart

Martha Stewart is a media mogul, entrepreneur, author of 100—yes, 100—books, and homemaking guru. She is also a member of our incredible judging academy.

She's Had a Successful Modeling Career

Before becoming a Wall Street stockbroker, and then a household name for home life, Martha was a model. After booking her first commercial at age 15, she modeled while attending Barnard College to finance her expenses.

She’s strutted many a catwalk, and posed for well-known magazines and brands, including Chanel.

Snoop Dogg is her Partner in Cooking

This duo’s now infamous friendship started in 2015, when Snoop was a guest on her former talk show’s Christmas special. Needless to say, they hit it off, so much so that the pair now hosts Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party on VH1.

Their segments feature Hollywood’s heavy hitters, including Seth Rogen and Wiz Khalifa, who graciously helped prepare fried chicken.

She's an Agriculturist

Apart from being a crafting connoisseur, Martha is also an agriculturist. Her Bedford, Connecticut, farm, on which she grows plants and vegetables, is home to 30 canaries, five dogs, three cats, horses, donkeys, peacocks, and chickens!

Fun fact: Bedford Farm sticks to a strict color palette: everything from buildings to most of its livestock are gray or black.

Try to Compete with her Morning Routine

How does this powerhouse run a lifestyle brand, manage a farm and cafe, host a cooking show, and still have time to blog, you ask? With an unbeatable morning routine.

Each morning Martha wakes up at 4:30-5:00am, attending to her health, animals, and greenhouse well before 7am.

She's Mastered the 'Gram

Not only is Martha adept at creating compelling analog content, she’s mastered digital content as well. One need only look at her Instagram: From its unique aesthetic, to previews of delicious recipes, her page speaks to a digital audience.
