The Webby Awards is excited to welcome a slate of brand new experts to the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences (IADAS): the 2,000+ member body of Internet experts and luminaries who judge work entered into The Webbys each year.
Meet Tiffany Rolfe, EVP, Chief Creative Officer, R/GA, and a new member of the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences, judging the 24th Annual Webby Awards!
Rolfe has been named one of Ad Age’s “Women to Watch” and she serves on the board of The One Club and the Ad Council Creative Committee. Following the 2016 election, she also worked with the ACLU leading brand identity and external campaigns.

1. Why are you excited to join IADAS as a Webby Awards judge? What particular expertise do you bring to the Academy?
I got my start in this business in the early days of .com (1995, before Webbys even) and was a web designer and programmer to start. I transitioned into advertising after going to design school. So for me The Webbys was always something I knew and admired.
I bring deep understanding of digital and the evolution of experiences as new technologies were created and new platforms launched. But I also have great knowledge and experience in building strong brands and understand how story is core to all experiences no matter the medium. The intersections of story and technology and media is what I find most fascinating.

2. What trend or emerging technology are you most excited about?
Spacial Computing! We get to play in a whole different dimension.
3. What specific project or service caught your attention on the Internet recently and why?
I love the idea that you can re-appropriate a negative, racist phrase and turn it into a positive, empowering expression. It was such a great example of a living, dynamic conversation with culture.
4. What’s your favorite Instagram account that other people haven’t heard of?
@TommyLenk is one of my fav, funny Insta accounts.

@tifko. It’s been that forever.
I also think I had DotTiff for a while early on. Playing off the .tiff format.
