The index showcases the top 5 technology and software companies honored at the 24th Annual Webby Awards

IN ITS SECOND YEAR, our annual Webby Industry Index series showcases the companies creating the highest caliber of work across their industries. Companies have been separated by their respective industries. The Webby Technology Industry Index highlights the top-performing tech and software companies honored at the 24th Annual Webby Awards. In addition, we highlighted pieces of work created by the featured companies. HOW IT WORKS: We analyzed which industries were most represented during the 24th Annual Webby Awards, and ranked the top five companies produced the highest performing work. *Companies are listed with the highest-performing companies top to bottom.

In the index, tech companies competing with branded content and interactive experiences earned top honored during the competition. This year, we’ve introduced new honors for Software Services & Platforms to recognize the explosion of products that help people create, find enjoyment, work, and organize. To celebrate, we took a look at the tech brands and software companies that were leading this field last year.

The Best Tech Companies

1. Google 

Leading the pack for the second consecutive year is Google, with a wide range of projects and disciplines honored during the 24th Annual Webby Awards. There are many projects you should check out, but start with mobile innovations like Google Assistant’s Interpreter Mode on Mobile, and  The Most Searched: A Celebration of Black History Makers, the 2020 Webby and People’s Voice Winner for Diversity & Inclusion (Branded) in Video.

2. Spotify 

Also ranking for the second consecutive year is Spotify with its original podcasts and in-house marketing. For an idea of all that the streaming service offers, dive into projects like the Mogul podcast, the 2020 Webby Winner in Music, as well as social videos like Cover Stories, a Webby Nominee for Music in Video Series & Channels.

3. Apple

The iconic technology company earned multiple honors at the 24th Annual Webby Awards across our Advertising and Mobile categories. Looking for a bit of inspiration? Explore Apple’s strong branding in projects like Apple – Bounce, the 2020 Webby Winner for Branded Content in Advertising. 

4. Squarespace

While Squarespace is known as a great website hosting platform, it is also known for its incredibly creative marketing. See a few of the brand’s vide projects honored last year, like Make It With Idris Elba, 2020 Webby Winner for Comedy (Branded) and Oscar the Grouch, 2020 People’s Voice Winner for Scripted (Branded).

5. Netflix

Making the industry index for the first year is Netflix, with honors across our Podcast and Video categories. See a few of their projects: The Only Podcast Left – Daybreak and Spoiler Box, a Webby Nominee for Scripted (Branded).
