Spencer Ante

Spencer E. Ante is the computers department editor at BusinessWeek where he covers technology. He is also a contributor to IN, BusinessWeek's new magazine about innovation and design. His 2006 investigative story "Meet the Hackers" won the 2007 Deadline Club award for Best Science, Technology, Medical and Environmental Reporting. He is also finishing his first book, Creative Capital: Georges Doriot and the Birth of Venture Capital, to be published by Harvard Business School Press in early 2008.
Before joining BusinessWeek in February, 2000, he was a staff reporter for TheStreet.com. Prior to that, he was a contributing writer at Wired News, a columnist for Business 2.0, and a producer for the Netscape NetCenter. Ante was also a founding associate editor at The Web magazine and an editor and reporter for PC World Online. A native of New York and New Jersey, Ante received a bachelor's degree from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and a master's degree in journalism from the University of California at Berkeley.
Nicke Bergstrom

Nicke Bergstrom, a native of Sweden, co-founded the online agency Farfar in 2000 and received his first Cannes Lion (a Grand Prix) within the first year. Farfar has been very successful in attracting both clients and talent. The agency has frequently been on stage in award shows, appeared in books and participated in the international debate about pushing online advertising forward. After winning the Cannes Grand Prix, Farfar has won numerous awards in Cannes, CLIO, D&AD, London International Advertising awards and EPICA, for their work on Adidas, Absolut Vodka, Nokia, and Red Bull. Farfar has been named "Agency of the Year" twice in Sweden.
Nicke has worked with online advertising since 1996. Before starting Farfar, he studied advertising and design in Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States, where he worked at MTV Networks in New York from 1999 to 2000.
In 2005, Nicke was selected as the "Best Online Creative" in Sweden, and was ranked 7th place in Campaign Magazine's list of "Online's Finest" in the fall of 2005. During the last year, Nicke has been a member of several juries, such as The One Show, Clio Awards, D&AD, MSN European Awards Eurobest and LIA.
Aileen Budow
VP, Digital Media and Special Events Communications, MTV Networks Entertainment Group
Aileen Budow is vice president, digital media and special events communications, MTVN Entertainment Group, which includes Comedy Central, Spike, TV Land, AtomFilms, iFILM, GameTrailers and Xfire. She is based in New York and reports to Tony Fox, executive vice president, corporate communications, MTVN Entertainment Group.
Budow leads the MTVN Entertainment Group's efforts to develop strategies, publicizing Comedy Central and Spike's expansion into the digital space, including the internet, wireless and broadband areas, as well as working with the digital properties AtomFilms, GameTrailers, iFilm and Xfire. Budow will also be responsible for communicating the integration efforts between the MTVN Entertainment Groups' linear channels and digital assets. She also spearheads publicity efforts in support of both on-air and off-air events including red carpet activities, gossip, photo and people item placements. Additionally, Budow is responsible for Comedy Central Home Entertainment and Comedy Central Records and publicizing networks marketing and sales promotions activities within the advertising and marketing trade publications as well as the consumer business press.
Budow joined Comedy Central in 2000 from Metrochannels where she was New York director of communications. Prior to that she was manager, public relations at TBS Superstation for Turner Broadcasting Systems, Inc. from 1996 to 1999, a job she held after a stint as senior account executive for Dan Klores Communications, the well-known Manhattan public relations firm, from 1993 to 1996. Budow holds a bachelor's degree in Marketing from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Vinton G. Cerf is vice president and Chief Internet Evangelist for Google. He is responsible for identifying new enabling technologies and applications on the Internet and other platforms for the company.
Widely known as a "Father of the Internet," Vint is the co-designer with Robert Kahn of TCP/IP protocols and basic architecture of the Internet. In 1997, President Clinton recognized their work with the U.S. National Medal of Technology. In 2005, Vint and Bob received the highest civilian honor bestowed in the U.S., the Presidential Medal of Freedom. It recognizes the fact that their work on the software code used to transmit data across the Internet has put them "at the forefront of a digital revolution that has transformed global commerce, communication, and entertainment."
David-Michel Davies

Hailed as the "Internet's highest honor" by The New York Times and "one of the most prestigious awards in the world" by the BBC, The Webby Awards is the leading international honors for Web and mobile sites, interactive advertising, and online film and video.
Davies became executive director of The Webby Awards in 2005 after spending three years as a new media consultant in Paris. In his current position, Davies has overseen a period of major growth for The Webby Awards. Last year's Webby Awards received a record 5,500 from over 40 countries and was capped by a sold-out ceremony featuring industry luminaries such as Prince, MySpace founder Chris DeWolfe, Arianna Huffington, and author Thomas Friedman. Most recently, Davies spearheaded the launch of the The Webby Film and Video Awards, the first major awards honoring original film and video premiering on the Internet.
Michael Eisner

For four decades, Michael Eisner has been a leader in the American entertainment industry. He began his career at ABC, where he helped take the network from number three to number one in primetime, daytime and childrens' television with such landmark shows as Happy Days, Barney Miller, Rich Man, Poor Man, and Roots. In 1976, he became president of Paramount Pictures, leading the studio to become number one in box office and profitability in both theatrical movies and network television production. In 1984 Michael assumed the position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company and, in the ensuing 21 years, transformed it from a film and theme park company with $1.8 billion in enterprise value into a global media empire valued at $80 billion. In 2005, Michael began the "next act" of his remarkable career, by founding the Tornante Company; a privately held company that makes investments in and incubates companies and opportunities in the media and entertainment space. Through the Tornante Company, he recently created Vuguru, a new media studio that produces world class content for the internet and emerging digital platforms. Vuguru's first production, "Prom Queen," was nominated for a Broadband Emmy and garnered 15 million views over the course of its initial run.
Michael graduated from Lawrenceville School in 1960 and Denison University in 1964 with a B.A. in English literature and theater. He serves on the boards of California Institute of the Arts, Denison University, the Aspen Institute and the Yale School of Architecture Dean's Council and is a member of The Business Council. He has established and funded The Eisner Foundation, a philanthropic organization headed by his wife, Jane.
He and Jane have three sons, Breck, Eric and Anders.

Ricardo Figueira

She has developed health and wellness programs for companies such as Time Inc., Warner Books, NBC, Reader's Digest, Discovery, and PBS. Ms.Forte previously worked with iVillage and at The Center for BioMedical Communications of the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. She received a masters of science in biomedical communications from Long Island University and is an undergraduate of Swarthmore College.

Shawn Gold is Head of Marketing and Content Development for the global social networking website MySpace.com, which has over 200 million registered profiles. MySpace.com focuses on personal expression, human connection and the discovery of popular culture, and has become an internet phenomenon.
Gold joined MySpace.com earlier this year with 14 years of experience in digital marketing and content strategy, including serving as publisher of WeblogsInc, the largest publisher of professional blogs on the Web. He was president and chief strategist of Intermix - bringing the online entertainment network to profitability and making it the most popular on the Web. Additionally, he headed marketing and communications for WHN, an ecommerce company that provided marketing services to the 2002 Olympics, ABC, NBC, Comedy Central, MTV and Fox.
Prior to WHN.com, Shawn served as head of strategic planning at Rare Medium where he created the inaugural interactive communication strategies for P&G, General Foods, Mattel and Nestle. In 1995, Shawn was GM and Founder of Icon New media's Advertising Division, publishing Word.com and Charged.com. There he created the first interstitial ads on the web and an industry-leading advertising system based on time rotation and contextual integration. He started developing interactive content in 1992 as a partner with TouchTunes Interactive, a telecommunications music marketing service in the USA, Japan and New Zealand. He is a founding board member of the Producers Guild of America's New Media Council and author of The Guide to Laughing at Life book series that promotes wellness through laughter.
Steve Grove

Steve Grove is the head of news and politics at YouTube where he directs all news and political programming for YouTube. Steve's role at YouTube includes managing You Choose '08, a centralized hub of candidate-created YouTube channels featuring campaign videos, speeches, and originally created content aimed at YouTube users. Steve also runs Citizentube, YouTube's highly popular political vlog, which highlights political content on YouTube and invites discussion and comments national and international politics. Steve also oversees citizen journalism content on the site.
Since Steve joined YouTube, the political coverage on YouTube has helped spotlight issues and concerns that are important to the YouTube community. YouTube's goal is to empower and educate voters and candidates to enable a more robust and genuine public dialogue.
Originally from Northfield, Minnesota, Steve worked at the Boston Globe and ABC News prior to joining the YouTube. He received a Master's in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Govt. at Harvard in 2006.
Beth Higbee

As head of the recently developed Emerging Ventures unit at Scripps Networks, Beth Higbee incubates new businesses to fit the profile of disruptive innovation. In this capacity, she leads a small team alongside traditional business development to drive revenue growth for Scripps Networks and to sustain a culture of innovation among its employees.
Higbee previously held senior roles within the interactive division for Scripps Networks, including oversight of FoodNetwork.com, FineLiving.com and GACTV.com. She was responsible for introducing the company's first subscription mobile recipe application; its first sponsored simultaneous live TV/web program with text messaging; and its first TV/online converged-advertising package at Fine Living.
Prior to Scripps, Higbee was part of the original team to launch startup portal Snap.com/NBC Internet in 1997 and was a founding member of the new media division at Rodale, Inc. in 1994. She began her career in the editorial departments of Men's Health and Prevention magazines.
Higbee was recognized by Multichannel News on its 40 Under 40 list, a Digital Navigator by TV Week, and as a top woman in technology by CableWorld. The Penn State graduate is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications and fellow of its Betsy Magness Leadership Institute Class XI, and a board member of philanthropy Step Up Women's Network NY. She lives in Manhattan.

Arianna Huffington is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post, a nationally syndicated columnist, and author of eleven books. She is also co-host of "Left, Right & Center," public radio's popular political roundtable program. In May 2005, she launched The Huffington Post, a news and blog site that has quickly become one of the most widely-read, linked to, and frequently-cited media brands on the Internet.
In 2006, she was named to the Time 100, Time Magazine's list of the world's 100 most influential people. Originally from Greece, she moved to England when she was 16 and graduated from Cambridge University with an M.A. in economics. At 21, she became president of the famed debating society, the Cambridge Union.

Before joining AKQA, Rei was the Executive Creative Director for R/GA, responsible for winning numerous awards including multiple Cannes Cyber Lions, One Show and Clio Awards. During his five year tenure at R/GA, Rei worked on key accounts such as Nike, Purina, CableVision, and Reuters' digital signage project on Times Square.

Amanda Kelso is the Executive Producer and Head of Production for Digital for Bartle Bogle Hegarty's New York office. Originally working in film and television production, over the course of her career Amanda shifted to interactive projects and has spent the last ten years producing projects ranging from e-commerce sites to digital installations to viral marketing campaigns. In her role at BBH, she oversees the interactive and digital production initiatives, and provides strategic consultation and solution recommendations for the latest in new and emerging media solutions for BBH's client roster. Under her direction, BBH has created digital campaigns for Axe, Mentos, All, The City of New York, and Johnnie Walker.
Prior to BBH, Amanda was Executive Producer of Interactive Production at Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, which was named Digital Agency of the Year by Advertising Age during her tenure. She produced award-winning work for clients including Hewlett-Packard, Comcast and Subway.
Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Studies from Columbia College at Columbia University, and currently resides in New York City.
Catherine Levene

Catherine Levene is a veteran digital media executive with over a decade of experience building successful online media companies. Currently, she is the COO of DailyCandy, the leading free daily e-mail and website targeted to women that discovers the latest in fashion, food, culture and fun. Prior to joining DailyCandy, she was part of the executive team at start-up shopping search engine, TheFind.com, where she served as SVP of Product and General Manager of the content and distribution network. Still very involved with the company, she currently sits on the board of directors of TheFind.com.
Prior to TheFind.com, Catherine spent seven years at New York Times Digital (NYTD), building the online properties of the New York Times Company, including nytimes.com. As Vice President, Product, Business Development and Strategy, she was responsible for partnerships, distribution and strategic planning as well as product development and management. Prior to that role, she was the director of marketing for New York Today (www.nytoday.com), the company's online guide to New York. Before joining New York Times Digital, Catherine served as manager of business strategy for Showtime Networks, Inc. From 1997-1998, she was director of business development at Firefly Networks which developed some of the first collaborative filtering technologies and applications for the Internet. Catherine started her career in media as a sales and marketing analyst for The New York Times Company's Women's Magazine Group from 1992 to 1994.
Catherine received a B.A. degree in history from the University of Pennsylvania and, concurrently, a B.S. degree in economics from the Wharton School of Business, in 1992. She earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School in 1996.
Jason Marks

Jason Marks recently took a position at Heavy Networks as Vice President of Programming & Development, creating online video for a true veteran of the medium, Heavy.com. This new challenge came after bringing MTV.com into the content era with the groundbreaking video platform, Overdrive.
Combining hit-based television programming with viral short form video and by-appointment live events, Jason was the Creative Director behind The Stew, MyVMAs, Laguna Beach: The After Show, My Movie Awards, The Woodies and TRL Behind the Scenes, to name a few. He also oversaw all custom ad creative across the site for clients like, McDonaldÕs, Nike, Pepsi, Verizon and Saturn. He plans to bring the same internet-television-advertising hybrid to Heavy Networks and to mark a true quality shift in the history of online video.
He acquired his digital advertising experience at R/GA, where working as a member of the Core Team, he was responsible for an impressive body of work for the Nike Brand sites, bringing home several Cubes, Pencils, Arrows, and Lions.

As President of Luntz, Maslansky Strategic Research, Michael represents the perfect balance to Frank Luntz. While Frank grabs headlines, Michael has quietly built a stable of clients who have turned to him to answer such questions as, "how do we best avoid legislation that hurts our industry?" to "how do we bring tourists back to New Orleans in the wake of Katrina?" to "what themes and messages will shift a jury from complete opposition to support of our client's case?" Rob Master

Rob Master directs Unilever's skin business and has managed a number of brands including Dove, Axe, Caress, Lever2000 and Suave. Since joining the company in 2002, Rob has helped drive awarding-winning consumer branding campaigns around the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty and The Axe Effect. He has also been a key driver in propelling Unilever into the digital and branded entertainment space with breakthrough campaigns such as the Dove Webisodes and the Caress/Univision Telenovla.
Before coming to Unilever, Rob worked in brand marketing for PepsiCo's Taco Bell and Young & Rubicam.
He holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and an M.B.A. from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis. Rob resides in New York with his wife and two children.
Tommy Means

Sensing the :30 spot was having a midlife crisis, Tommy and his partners rented a warehouse and invited some friends to create brand stories for emerging media. And they decided to call that place Mekanism. What followed was award-winning but odd work for commercials, viral campaigns, and branded entertainment for clients including Nike, Axe, Microsoft, BP, Adidas, EA, MTV, Levi's, and Sega.
As a writer/director, Tommy has conjured stories of Mexican puppet theatres, a boy who lives in an inflatable ball, and the phenomena of "YO" on the back of Toyota pickup trucks. Most recently he worked with Microsoft Windows Vista and Daily Show comedian Demetri Martin to co-write and direct clearification.com, which recently earned two Webbies, two Cannes Lions, two Clios, a D&AD and an Andy.
Tommy has also spent the past four years producing a feature documentary entitled "Surfwise". Directed by Doug Pray for Mark Cuban's HDNet Films, "Surfwise" chronicles the Paskowtiz family, a legendary clan of surfers. The film premieres at the 2007 Toronto Film Festival and opens in theatres nationwide in the Spring of 2008.

Sean Mills is President of The Onion. Prior to joining The Onion in 2002, Mr. Mills was the founding partner of Adgile Interactive, an interactive ad agency based in San Francisco. Over the past five years, The Onion and its sister site The AV Club have grown their monthly readership to 6 million readers, moved to daily web publishing, launched a sports section, and created a top ranked podcast- The Onion Radio News. The Onion launched its online video network, The Onion News Network in the Spring of 2007, marking the comedy site's first move into video in its 20 year history.

Viveca Novak is deputy director of FactCheck.org, winner of two 2007 Webby People's Voice awards and a 2007 Clarion Award and twice chosen as one of Time.com's "25 Sites We Can't Live Without." Novak is a journalist whose coverage of politics and government in Washington spans nearly 20 years. She has reported in turn for Common Cause Magazine, National Journal, the Wall Street Journal and Time magazine. At Time she was a co-winner of Harvard University's Goldsmith Prize as well as the Clarion Award for investigative reporting into the campaign finance scandals of President Clinton's 1996 re-election campaign. She is also co-author of Inside the Wire , the story of a military intelligence specialist's experience at Guantanamo Bay (Penguin Press: 2005), and holds an M.S. in journalism from Columbia University and an M.S.L. from Yale Law School.
Frank Nuovo

Frank Nuovo has dedicated much of over 16 years to building and leading Nokia's designs. Nuovo established and led its global design team as Chief of Design beginning in 1995. While at Nokia, his brand product design leadership saw Nokia rise from an obscure Finnish company to conquering and holding the position of the world's number one mobile phone manufacturer, with a market share of over 38% and the ranking as the world's 5th most valuable brand (Interbrand). The intuitive and friendly interface created with Nokia's user centered products have become a global standard. Nuovo and his design team championed and pioneered a diverse product portfolio of style categories, form factors and hybrid functionalities including the worlds first mobile internet, fax and email mobiles, along with innovative gaming, texting and multimedia solutions.
As his brainchild, Nuovo founded Vertu for Nokia and has led as creative director and designer since 1998. Vertu, with its fusion of technology and precision craft, and the new luxury mobile phone market that it created, is a great success story with strong growth globally. Nuovo left his position at Nokia in April of 2006 to focus on hands-on design for Nokia's luxury phone brand Vertu and pursue a range of his own new innovative technology related design projects.

As Editorial Director of CondéNet, the leading creator and developer of upscale lifestyle brands online, Jamie Pallot is responsible for the content, look and feel of the company's five stand-alone online magazines: fashion bible Style.com and Men.Style.com; pioneering food site Epicurious.com; upscale travel guide Concierge.com, and teen site Flip.com. The sites have been honored by the American Society of Magazine Editors and the James Beard Foundation, among others, and have received multiple Webby Awards and Media Industry Newsletter Best of the Web Awards. In 2005, Style.com received the ASME award for General Excellence Online.
Mr. Pallot came to CondéNet from Time Inc. Interactive where, as an editorial consultant working closely with then-editor Carol Wallace, he oversaw a redesign of People.com. Previously, he spent three years as the Editor in Chief at New York Sidewalk, the acclaimed online city guide published by Microsoft. Mr. Pallot has also served as Editorial Director of Canadian magazine, web and tv company Shift Multimedia; Editorial Director, New Media, for NewsCorp; and Editor of Britain's Virgin Movie Guide. He was written a syndicated movie review column, and appeared on CNBC as an expert on the entertainment industry.
Mr. Pallot was educated at the University of Sussex, the University of the Sorbonne, and St. Catherine's College, Oxford.

David Pescovitz is co-editor of the popular weblog BoingBoing.net and a research director with the Institute for the Future. He is also editor-at-large for MAKE and writer-in-residence for UC Berkeley's College of Engineering. Pescovitz co-wrote the book "Reality Check," based on his long-running forecasting column in Wired magazine where he remains a correspondent. He also has contributed to Scientific American, Popular Science, The New York Times, The Washington Post, New Scientist, Business 2.0, and many other publications.
In 2002, he won the Foresight Prize in Communication, recognizing excellence in educating the public and research community about nanotechnology and other emerging technologies. Pescovitz holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Electronic Media from the University of Cincinnati and a Master's in Journalism from UC Berkeley.

David Rudolph is an entrepreneur and consultant focused on traditional and new media ventures. He is based in Atlanta, GA.
Previously, Rudolph was Senior Vice President, Strategy & New Products for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. (TBS, Inc.). In this capacity, he directed a team charged with working across TBS, Inc. divisions to identify and analyze market concepts and develop internal ideas leading to products of scale outside the company's traditional network businesses. He was also charged with developing the company's strategic direction as well as overseeing the company's corporate development efforts, including minority investments and M&A activities.

Karen Tumulty was named national political correspondent for TIME in 2001. She joined the magazine as a congressional correspondent in 1994.
Tumulty has written or co-written more than 25 cover stories for TIME, the most recent of which include "How the Right Went Wrong," a look at how political conservatives lost their footing; a profile of presidential contender Mitt Romney; and a piece on the kick-off of the 2008 presidential campaign. She contributes regularly to TIME.com's political blog, "Swampland," and has also held positions with TIME as congressional correspondent and White House correspondent.
Tumulty holds a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Texas-Austin and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. She is married to Paul Richter, who covers the State Department for the Los Angeles Times. They have two sons, Nicholas and Jack.

Lou Wallach was named senior vice president, original programming and development, COMEDY CENTRAL, in June 2004 and in August 2005, added original broadband series development to his portfolio of responsibilities.
Based in New York City, Wallach is charged with tapping into Manhattan's vibrant comedy scene and talent community and is responsible for the development and production for all of COMEDY CENTRAL's original pilots and series on the east coast as well as overseeing all stand-up series programming, including "Live at Gotham," the networks first multi-platform stand-up franchise. He also supervises the development and production of original content for COMEDY CENTRAL's programming expansion into new digital platforms, such as Atom.com and the Emmy-nominated comedycentral.com.
