THE WEBBY AWARDS CREDITS MAGIC OF THE INTERNET WITH IGNITING UNPARALELLED CONSUMER EXPECTATIONS
The Webbys will bring its research and insights about “At Your Service” to business executives and thought leaders at the worlds leading Internet, creative and media companies, including Google, Funny or Die, Disney, Apple, Tinder, IDEO, Microsoft France, and others. A key focus of Webby Talks for 2014 will be on a future where brands use technology to provide near magical services for a consumer that expects everything to be available, on demand, all the time, from anywhere.
“It might be hard to believe, but consumers have already normalized to the seamlessness and simplicity of services like Uber, Seamless, Pandora and Amazon Prime,” said Webby Executive Director David-Michel Davies. “Our research reveals that today’s customers expect everything -online or off – to be like the Internet: available at a moment’s notice, wherever they are, and totally customized to their tastes.”
As part of the Webby Talks series, The Webby Awards will release the results of a national survey studying consumer behavior, decision-making and expectations tied to online transactions and interactions. Preliminary results of that research support the trend that consumer desires for features like on-demand availability, real-time support, tailored recommendations and automatic payments have become something US consumers have come to expect.
Webby Talks will be visiting 11 cities in the US including New York, San Francisco, Austin and Los Angeles, and 14 cities abroad including Tokyo, Sao Paolo, London and Melbourne. Companies that wish to participate in the discussion should visit Webbytalks.com to schedule a visit in their area or learn more about the research and insights that make up “At Your Service.”
The Webby Awards final entry deadline to submit works for consideration is October 24, 2014. Nominees will be announced in April, with the hallmark Webby Awards ceremony held later in the spring.
