A Note from Our General Manager

Welcome to the 29th Annual Webby Awards!

For 29 years, The Webby Awards has recognized the best of the Internet, witnessing innovation on a scale beyond what we could have imagined. While trends and technologies evolve rapidly, the impact of great work is timeless, leaving a lasting mark on Internet history—proof that innovators will always find ways to create their mark.

In preparation for this season, we’ve explored new trends, honored the pioneers shaping the digital landscape, and reflected on what makes us love the Internet. As a result, we’re excited to introduce a brand new suite of categories for those looking to Create Their Mark.

This year, The Webby Awards is launching a dedicated suite of recognitions under the Creators category, aimed at a new generation of content creators and highlighting the community that has ushered in a new era of Internet influence. Additionally, and particularly close to me, is our revamped Video & Film category, which honors video, film, series, limited series, and specials, spotlighting the dynamic community of makers, producers, and distributors leading the way in streaming entertainment. Finally, to celebrate culture-defining brand work, we’re introducing the inaugural Brand of the Year award as part of our prestigious Special Achievement series.

With these recognitions and a new Academy judging panel with highlights including Amelia Dimoldenberg, Comedian, Host & Producer, Chicken Shop Date; Founder, Dimz Inc; Anjali Sud, CEO of Tubi; Desiree Perez, CEO of Roc Nation; Nick DiGiovanni, Chef and Creator; Shannon Sharpe, Sports Analyst & Podcaster; Christoph Becker, Chief Creative Officer of Whalar; Amber Guild, CEO of McCann New York; Victoria Lozano, CMO of Crayola; Jaime Teevan, Chief Scientist at Microsoft; and Cara Cusumano, Festival Director of The Tribeca Film Festival—we’re gearing up for the best and brightest Webby Awards season yet.

While trends and technologies evolve rapidly, the impact of great work is timeless, leaving a lasting mark on Internet history—proof that innovators will always find ways to create their mark.”

Last season, The Webby Awards received nearly 13,000 entries from all 50 states and 70 countries worldwide, marking the biggest celebration of entertainers, creatives, technologists, and visionaries on the Internet. This year’s entrants will have the chance to join past Webby Winners like Apple, Accenture Song, Audible, Barbie The Movie, Gucci, Jay-Z, Jason and Travis Kelce, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Keke Palmer, Kara Swisher, Letterboxd, Michelle Obama, Mischief @ No Fixed Address, NASA, Netflix, National Geographic, Olivia Rodrigo, ŌURA, Rare Beauty, Snoop Dogg, The Sphere, Sydney Sweeney, and Taylor Swift. But there’s no doubt that this year will usher in a new era of Internet excellence.

I cannot wait to see what you create this year. Now in my second season with The Webbys, I have been astonished and truly inspired by the breadth of work and innovation that we are so lucky to recognize and celebrate each year.

This year, we’re accepting submissions across categories including Websites and Mobile Sites; Video & Film; Advertising, Media & PR; Apps and Software; Social; Podcasts; AI, Immersive & Games; and Creators.
